An ads.txt generator should format verified seller details, not invent a demand network for your website. Start with records supplied by the advertising partners you actually use. Keep a note of who supplied each record and when it was reviewed.
Prepare a small source sheet
For each partner, record the advertising-system domain, your seller account ID, relationship and certification ID if supplied. Keep instructions for different sites separate. An ID copied from a tutorial or another publisher is not your account.
The IAB ads.txt resource explains the standard’s role. A valid-looking line is still only a declaration until the underlying relationship is correct.
Generate, inspect, then publish
- Open the ads.txt generator and enter one verified record.
- Use Add entry for another partner. Review the relationship rather than accepting a value by habit.
- Generate the text and read the output line by line.
- Use the syntax validator to review supported formatting findings.
- Keep a backup of the existing file before applying the reviewed text to your actual publishing setup.
The generator does not log into Blogger, WordPress or your ad platform. Downloading text is not the same as installing it. The tool rejects commas and newlines inside an individual field because those characters would change the record structure.
Compare two versions without guessing
Suppose a partner sends an updated account ID. Compare its old and new complete records and confirm whether the old record should remain. Do not remove another active partner merely because its line was absent from that message. This is a change-control example, not a recommendation to retain obsolete accounts.
Should I add many random sellers to increase revenue?
No. Record count is not a revenue strategy. Verify commercial authorization and use the provider’s instructions.
How do I confirm the installation?
Inspect the public file with the live ads.txt checker. For CMS-specific publishing questions, use your platform’s instructions and the Google ads.txt FAQs.
